Experience

Grant’s wide range of knowledge across financial planning allows him to develop strategies that use a host of different concessions to maximise the client’s financial position.

Assignment

Review insurer’s overpayment estimate regarding an income protection claim.

Process and outcome

Grant analysed the insurance contract and the financial information provided by the insurer and by taking a slightly different but legitimate perspective on the calculations he had the clients overpayment calculation adjusted from over $16,000 to just $259.

Assignment

Assisted a client with cash flow issues to make deductible superannuation contributions.

Process and outcome

Using small business Capital Gains Tax concessions Grant identified an opportunity for a client to sell non-superannuation assets with large unrealised capital gains to their self-managed superannuation fund, realising no tax and allowing access to funds from the fund to be able to fund deductible contributions back to super, reducing the client’s annual tax expense by in excess of $30,000.

Assignment

Advised a client on sale of substantial property asset to self-managed superannuation fund.

Process and outcome

Grant identified a way to reduce a client’s business income for a year to the extent that realising a capital gain on disposal was manageable and resulting in substantial ongoing tax savings from reduced tax on rent.
