The Research, Commercialisation and Startup Fund

Funding is often one of the most difficult challenges for entrepreneurs to launch and develop their ideas. The recently announced Research, Commercialisation and Startup Fund by the South Australian State Government has been developed to help address this challenge.

The intention of the fund is to introduce significant new technologies, capacities, capabilities, expertise and additional employment to South Australia. Grant funding is available in three streams:

  1. Strategic Research Initiatives
  2. Startup and Early Stage Company Incentive
  3. Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystem Initiatives

Stream 2, the only currently open stream, offers funding to entrepreneurially minded businesses to establish or scale-up eligible business initiatives with grant funding between $20K - $1M on a dollar matching basis. The managing body, Department for Industry and Skills, is inviting potential applicants to discuss their proposal with them prior to submitting an expression of interest or application.

Nexia Edwards Marshall can provide advice on identifying and assessing the eligibly of available grants, including this one, and assist with the application process.
